In this past weekend at the 2025 Britannia Cup in Nottingham, Great Britain, the three USA junior synchronized skating teams dominated the competition, sweeping the podium with remarkable displays of skill, precision, and artistry. The Lexettes, Fond du Lac Blades, and Team Image all made their international debut this season, debuting in dazzling new costumes and inventive routines.
The Lexettes led the charge, finishing first in the short program and second in the free skate with a total of 187.29 points—securing their first-ever gold medal overseas with a commanding lead of more than 10 points. Fond du Lac Blades earned the silver medal, scoring a combined total of 176.99 points.
Team Image faced challenges during the short program, with three skaters falling during their pivot block. However, they rebounded strongly, posting their highest score of 122.41 points in the free skate. Although they made up significant ground and finished with a total of 175.33 points, they fell just 1.66 points shy of silver, earning the bronze medal.
This outstanding performance not only marked an impressive debut for the teams but also underscored the depth and talent of junior synchronized skating in the USA.

This past Sunday, three top U.S. synchronized skating teams competed at their first international competition of the season, the Santa Claus Cup 2024 in Brno, Czech Republic. This charming European city is the second largest in the Czech Republic. The event hosted 26 synchronized skating teams competing at ISU category (senior, junior and advanced novice levels), along with 33 synchro teams competing at non-ISU category (adult, pre-juvenile, juvenile, basic novice and mixed aged levels).
At the junior level, the competition was fierce. The top three medalists were separated by less than 1.3 points. Dream Edges Junior from Finland claimed the gold medal with 191.31 points, while Teams Elite finished second with 190.51 points, and Skyliners Junior secured bronze with 190.04 points.
At the senior level, Team Unique and Marigold Ice Unity, both from Finland, dominated, securing the top two spots with scores of 227.32 and 221.44 points, respectively. Skyliners earned the bronze medal with 193.56 points. They have all skated creatively and beautifully.
Congratulations to all three U.S. synchro teams who medaled in this event. We look forward to the rest of the international competitions this season.

U.S. Figure Skating announced the international assignments yesterday for the synchronized skating teams representing the USA in the 2024-25 season. Fourteen teams will participate in eight international competitions, including four Challenger Series events. These events allow teams to earn World Standing Points and prepare for the ISU Championships. Senior teams include the Haydenettes, Skyliners and Miami University. Four Junior teams, the Lexettes, Skyliners junior, Team Image and Teams Elite will compete 2 events in the challenger series while Fond du Lac Blades and Northernettes will compete in one challenger series event. Senior Elite 12 teams are Hayden Select and Teams Elite 12.
Notably, the U.S. will host one of the international competitions, International Classic in Norwood, Massachusetts, featuring top senior and junior teams around the world. This marks the first time since 2019 that the U.S. has hosted a Challenger Series event.

Following a standout performance in the 2023-24 season, where they secured second place in the Novice division at nationals, the newly formed Junior team made their debut appearance at the Chuck Cope Synchro Competition in Dearborn, Michigan, on October 19, 2024. Competing on their home rink, they scored 44.38 in the short program and 102.84 in the free skate, totaling 147.22 points.
As they continue to develop their skating skills and strengthen team chemistry, the Crystallettes Junior Team is now preparing to compete at the Fall Classic Synchro Competition in Irvine, California on November 8, 2024. The Helsinki Rockettes claimed gold with a total score of 208.71, despite a fall during their Free Skate, which showcased high-energy performances. Team Berlin 1 secured silver (176.02), performing consistently well without falls. Team Passion bounced back from a disappointing Short Program to take bronze (154.25) with a resilient Free Skate. Team Ice Fire Senior finished fourth (150.07) but had a cheerful presentation despite facing some setbacks.

As the US National Synchronized Skating Championships concluded, the Teams Elite and Skyliners have been selected to represent Team USA at the ISU World Junior Synchronized Skating Championships 2024. Teams Elite won their first-ever U.S. junior title at the 2024 U.S. Synchronized Skating Championships. Both teams have stood on the podium at the World Junior Championships before. The Lexettes have been named first alternate while Team Image will be the second alternate.
Teams Elite clinched the gold medal in the junior free skate with a total score of 198.87. Last year's U.S. champions, Skyliners junior, took home the silver medal.
